Hempel Sheet Metal Works has been in business for 100 years. Founded in 1903 by Barney Hempel, who worked in the trade, following in the footsteps of his father, Frederick Hempel who came over from Germany in the 1860's. Barney R. Hempel took the business over in the 1940's and incorporated in 1947.
Since the beginning the company has concentrated on the industrial and commercial market, fabricating and installing products for food processing plants, chemical plants, plastic manufacturer's, restaurants, etc. Not limiting ourselves to the industrial market, we have also specialized in fabricating sculptures, church spires, replicating late 19th and early 20th century architectural items along with kitchen hoods, countertops and other custom sheet metal products.
Currently the company is run by third generation Don Hempel, son of the late Barney R. Hempel. Don's nephew Dave is a fourth generation family member and is part of the management team.
Today we maintain the specialty job shop status concentrating on the industrial, commercial and architectural market and focusing on top quality products and service.
